I'd like to take credit for this experiment but I cannot.
A group of researcher in England started with the premise that eating a different breakfast can determine how much weight one can lose walking after breakfast.
Dr. Ian MacDonald and staff from the University of Nottingham got together a group of women, one morning they ate a diet of sugary cornflakes, white bread and sugary jam.
The next morning the women started their day with whole grain cereal, yogurt and fruit.
Each day the women walked for 1 hour at normal speeds.
Much more fat was burned eating the whole grain meal, at a whopping 100% more fat calorie energized off the body.
The biggest score was when the women reported not being hungry after the whole grain day.
Yet very hungry and ready for a second breakfast when eating a highly processed and sugary meal.
That's something I have been stressing for years:
"GET away from Processed Foods"
they're not good for our bodies.
Most of the crap processed is not food therefore it is foreign to our bodies and more times than not ends up as fat under the skin.
Nothing on the grocer's shelves is more processed than white bread.
Granted it takes awhile to get accustomed to eating non-flour breads, but once you do, you won't go back to bleached-flour doughy junk.
Back to the trials: it's all about the glycemic scale. Remember the Sugar Busters Diet?
This is the same presupposition: sugary processed foods give our bodies a rush of carbohydrates all at once raising our blood-sugar high and as quickly dropping it.
When that happens our bodies want to be refilled.
Losing weight this way is the right dieting plan for everyone who want longevity.
Whereas, with the complex carbohydrate diet the foods break down slower thereby hitting the bloodstream at a crawls pace staying in the body longer with no early signaling for more food. Now insulin comes into play.
Along with the rush of sugar comes an abundance of insulin which as you all know carries glucose into the cells and turned into energy.
When insulin is present fat is not burned.
As a slower burner the good-carbs breakfast triggers way less insulin allowing the body to burn stored fat during and after the walk!
These researcher reported that both healthier carbs and walking quell hunger by stimulating the brains appetite-control center.
Dr. MacDonald tells us his walkers lost up to 20 lbs in 1 month!
You can do the same for all meals not just breakfast with good carbs and low-fat meats.
A dieting plan like this one gets you losing weight in a 1/4 of the time than those unhealthy fad diets.
